MY SUNLIFT IS STUCK ON UP POSITION.

Check the fluid level.  It should be 1/3 to 1/2 full.  Note: For SunLift customers with an RC308 & 401 unit may be able to depressurize the system (See instructions below).  For SunLift customers without this function, please contact your local dealer.

I HEAR A CLICKING NOISE WHEN I HIT THE UP OR DOWN BUTTON AND MY PUMP DOESN’T ENGAGE.

In about 90% of instances, this is battery related and appears to be failing under load.  Batteries have a typical service life of 2-3 seasons.  Make sure your battery is connected, free of corrosion on the posts and if you have a volt meter, a 12.8v-14.5v reading is a sign of a healthy battery.  If the battery is reading normal, while connected to the volt meter, click ‘up’ or ‘down’ on the RC unit – If the reading is below 12v, the battery is not outputting enough to power the lift and will need to be replaced.

LIFT WON’T STAY UP, IT GOES DOWN SLOW ON ITS OWN.

This is indicative of some sort of pressure loss in the system.  Visually check the reservoir for fluid level and hoses leading to the pump.  If there is fluid in the reservoir as well as visually inspect the lift for any kinks in the hose or visible leaks.  Contact your dealer for service.

ONE SIDE OF MY FLOATLIFT IS MOVING BUT NOT THE OTHER.

This could be indicative of air in the system or a lack of flow of hydraulic fluid.  Check the reservoir for fluid level and hoses leading to the pump.  If there is fluid in the reservoir, check the connections to the pump to ensure that they are fully seated in as well as visually inspect the lift for any kinks in the hose or visible leaks.  If connections are sound and no leaks are present, contact your local dealer.

HOW MUCH FLUID DO I NEED IN MY RESERVOIR?

This can vary from lift-to-lift, however a general rule of thumb when the cylinders are retracted, fluid should be filled to 1.5”-2” from the top of the reservoir.  Sunfluid should be a clear pink-ish color with no visible residue.

Copy FAQ Link Copied!
WHAT TYPE OF FLUID DO I NEED FOR MY SYSTEM?

The recommended fluid for Sunstream boatlifts is our Sunfluid, which is a water-based proprietary fluid and can be purchased from any Sunstream dealer.  Using another other fluid (such as vegetable oil, hydraulic fluid, or AFT) will void any existing warranty and has the potential to cause major problems to the system.

LIFT DOES NOT GO ALL THE WAY UP.

Please check the pump reservoir for fluid level.  This could be indicative of a leak in the system. The fluid level should be between 1/3 and 2/3 full depending on lift model.  If there is adequate fluid level, the hoses to the pump may not be fully seated in and may need to be re-attached.  Note: For SunLift customers with an RC308 & 401 unit may be able to depressurize the system (See instructions in Manual).  For SunLift customers without, please contact your local dealer.

MY PUMP DOES NOT RUN, NOTHING WORKS.

In about 90% of instances, this is battery related.  Batteries have a typical service life of 2-3 seasons.  Make sure your battery is connected, free of corrosion on the posts and if you have a volt meter, a 12.8v-14.5v reading is a sign of a healthy battery.

Special thanks to Louis-Philippe for taking the time to answer my questions and for doing an A1 job. Impeccable service and quality work. I highly recommend them.

Maxime Primeau

I am extremely satisfied with their work. Their team was professional, efficient, and highly skilled. I highly recommend their services!

David Fouquette

I have specific constraints with my dock and have often been poorly advised in recent years. Last summer, we worked with Quai Solutions for the first time after a neighbor on the lake recommended them. It was the first summer we were able to enjoy the lake with peace of mind, without any issues with our setup. They definitely had the best solution for my dock.

Sarah-Maude Brouillard

We purchased a 10,000 lb Sunstream boat lift from Quai Solutions, and the experience was exceptional. The service before, during, and after the sale was flawless. The team answered all our questions with professionalism and courtesy. We highly recommend Quai Solutions for their outstanding service and expertise.

Samuel Demers

This team is very professional. Very punctual with their appointments, very responsive to our needs and problems with ready solutions. Courteous and reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

John Chen

Quick service, everything we needed to consider before making a decision was clearly explained, and the installation was flawless. We’re really satisfied with our decision to go with Quai Solutions.
